I know my blog limps along with mere words--no links or pictures yet. This is largely because I'm a poor linear creature: photos and hyperlinks are not generally part of my thinking. But I'll try, as time permits. In the meantime, you'll pardon me if I'm limited to my rather modest little thoughts.

The pub, of course--blogs don't have beer!
Some blogs are basically devoid of pictures, or even links. If you have vivid enough ideas, they will come. But bloggers often think of themselves as journalists (or wannabe journalists), and hence the desire to "decorate" their stories.
Lewis had a decided advantage in living in Oxford. Not many of us can pop down to the neighborhood pub (bar?) and expect to find J.R.R. Tolkien or Owen Barfield. But at least in the world of blogging, you're likely to attract some of the best intellects in the areas in which you show an interest (and perhaps some slight ability).
But if only blogs came with beer!
